Magazine, single-sided photocopied page, 6 1/2" w x 9" l, sepia, three images, title - "Spotlight on the Travelall, By Jim Whipple", "Popular Mechanics", page 16. Curious staffers at Popular Mechanics magazine once asked how many first-grade students can you fit into the 1962 International Harvester's Travelall wagon. Teacher Margaret Bjorck's class came back with the answer. All 28 pupils shown here fit, with a few empty spots in the front seat, perhaps for the kitty (30) who wandered into the photo shoot. The images, taken by Bartlett resident and staff photographer Don Honick, did appear in the magazine's February 1962, in an article entitled, "Spotlight on the Travelall." |
