In May 1959, residents received this new 124-page Bartlett-Roselle-Bloomingdale and nearby communities telephone directory complete with Yellow Pages! The directory lists residential and business phone numbers along with addresses. The directory also explains how to "reach telephone people who'll help you" such as the operator, service representative and the business office. This was years before 911, so Bartlett's "Emergency Numbers" are listed on the inside page. Bartlett police was TE 7-2341 and Bartlett fire was TE 7-2121. Who remembers "How to Use a Dial Telephone" and "A Neighborly Party Line?" |
