Horseshoe, 7 1/4"h x 6 1/2" w, iron. Henry Marxen's blacksmith shop, once located on South Oak Avenue, was Bartlett's last blacksmith shop in operation. Marxen retired from the business in 1942. The shop was razed sometime after the mid 1950s. In the 1990s his home, just to the north of the shop, was razed. When the land was disturbed in 2018 for the new Police Department facility, horseshoes and other products were unearthed from the site of the shop! |
