Opener, can, 6" l x 1"w, plastic handle, metal opener, cream and brown, printed on plastic handle- "Precision Plumbing & Heating, 330 S. Main St. - Bartlett, Ill., (312) 837-5121, Service & Supplies", hole drilled into handle, green plastic tip, duel opener metal head. In 1970, Jay and Pattie Sinnes began Precision Plumbing and Heating out of their Western Avenue home. Four years later, they moved the office to 330 S. Main Street, then "across from the Bartlett Bank." Precision also offered repair service, sewer rodding, sump pumps and water heaters for residential, commercial and contracting. An opportunity for expansion came in 1978 and the couple purchased the house at 138 S. Oak Avenue. They renovated the old home and built an addition for the Precision operation and their Village Kitchen and Baths shop. Their operation continued until 1986. Both Jay and Pattie were very active in the Bartlett community including being charter members of the then Bartlett Chamber of Commerce which was formed in 1977. This handy can opener/bottle cap remover, a promotional giveaway, dates between 1974 and 1978. This opener was appropriate since Jay, and other Bartlett men, formed the once "DADS" the December Afternoons Drinking Society club. |
