On August 8, 2022, Geoff Pretkelis was sworn in as Bartlett's new Chief of Police, in this the department's 130th year. Chief Pretkelis joined the department in 1996 being promoted through the ranks of Patrol Sergeant (2006) and served as the Sergeant of the Public Service Bureau until he was promoted to the rank of Commander in 2016. The following year he was promoted to Deputy Chief, a rank he held until today. Chief Pretkelis earned a Bachelor's Degree from Western Illinois University, and graduated from the Northwestern University Center for Public Safety School of Police & Command. |
