Description |
Postcard, 5 1/2 h x 3 1/2" w, black & white real image, Front- two story building, stone first floor, clapboard second floor, gas street light in front, sign in window states, "Polling Place", printed on front in black, "Town Hall Bartlett, ILL.". Back- written in pencil message to Margo Oosterbeck of Chicago from L. H., postmarked 1908. This was Bartlett's first village hall. Completed in 1895 and razed in 1968, it was located on Main Street where the current Village Hall stands today. The first floor housed the village's two jail cells and the upstairs the council chambers. |
