Description |
Postcard, 3 1/2" l x 5 1/2" w, paper, Front- black and white image of a school, "Public School, Bartlett, Ill. 40501," is written in white ink at the bottom of the image, Back- "Post Card" is printed to the left of the stamp in the top right corner, there is a message on the left side and a name and address on the right side of the postcard. Bartlett Public School first opened in the 1880s, and in 1907 a two-room addition, shown in the postcard, was completed. It cost $1,000, and more teachers had to be hired as a result of the growing student population. |
