Postcard, 3 1/2" l x 5 1/2" w, paper, Front- black and white image of a church and two buildings to the left of the church, there is a man wearing black clothing and a hat standing in front of the church, a child stands to the left of him on the sidewalk, "German Church, Bartlett, Ill." is written in white ink in the bottom left corner, Back- "Post Card" is printed to the left of the stamp, there is a note on the left side and a name and address on the right side of the postcard. Bartlett's oldest continuing congregation, today called Immanuel United Church of Christ, was founded in 1891 by German Immigrants. From left to right is its German School, parsonage, and church. Its German School was moved onto South Hickory Avenue, and is now a residential home. |
