Blueprint, 27 1/2" w x 18" l, paper, Front- in white, upper right hand corner-"Device for Assembling AB Brake Cyl. Pistons", Location Davies Yd. Milw" , four detailed drawings of cylinder components showing measurments and function, Back- in pencil- several numbers. Calipers are a very important part of the braking system with the piston being the key component. This blueprint drawn in 1953 by the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul & Pacific Railroad's Mechanical Department illustrates the measurments, cylinder, plate, locking pin and more of the assembly for "AB" brake cylinders pistons. Born and raised in Bartlett, Harvey Brandt (1903-1970) worked for the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul & Pacific Railroad Company from 1922 to his retirement in 1964. In 1950, Harvey was promoted to Asst Superintendent of Air Brakes for the railroad. This blueprint is from his estate of items associated with his Milwaukee Road career. |
