Postcard, 3 1/2" l x 5 1/2" w, paper, Front- black and white image of a church, "Congregational Church, Bartlett, Ill. 40509." is written in white ink underneath the church building, Back- "Genuine...Chicago," is printed along the side, "Postcard, this space for address only," is printed on the right side of the line that splits the back of the card, there is a place for a stamp in the top right corner. In 1879, the Congregational Church, shown in the postcard, was moved from Wayne Center and founded in Bartlett. It was disbanded in 1900 due to German immigrants establishing the Immanuel Evangelical Church, known today as the Immanuel United Church of Christ. |
