Plaque, 12" w x 14 1/2" h, wood, metal, fabric, Front- dark wood frame with olive green velvet insert, goldtone 7" metal figure of patrolman on base affixed to green velvet, engraved on brass plate on lower edge of plaque- "Patrolman of the Year, Russell Laine, 1978, Bartlett, ILL., Back- hanger loop at top. In the 1970s, the Bartlett Police Department established the Patrolman of the Year Award. Today it is called the Officer of the Year Award. In 1978, Russell Laine was recognized with this plaque. Laine came to Bartlett in 1977, was promoted through the ranks, leaving the department in 1982. He went onto serve as chief in Algonquin, IL for almost 30 years retiring in 2014. Laine passed away in 2021. |
