Tree, shoe, 12"l x 1 3/4"w, wood & metal, pointed wooden tip with metal bar, wooden ball at opposite end. Shoe trees are essential for maintaining a shoe's proper shape. When inserted into the shoe, it allowed the shoe to dry out correctly and keep the leather from cracking. Bartlett School teacher and principal Elvina Ness Brandt (1902-1996) was known for her stylish wardrobe and used this shoe tree with her footwear collection. |
