The high school, founded in 1869, continues to serve Bartlett students today who are in the Gifted and Talented Academy. Prior to the opening of the Village's 4 year high school in 1997, Bartlett High School, students traveled to Elgin to complete their education. Before buses, Bartlett students would ride the train to Elgin and then walk to the building. Elgin High School moved to its current location in 1972, hence the reference of the "old school." Today the building illustrated on the back is known as Central School, and is located at 355 E. Chicago Street, Elgin. |
