Transparency, slide, 2" x 2", color, Front- in blue- "Ekachrome slide", yellow bands on cardboard edge, in white- "Processed by Kodak", Back- stamped in black- "Nov85F2", Image- train station painted gold with rust color door, "Bartlett" on sign, cars parked around station, water tower/trees, utility poles, buildings in background. In November 1985, when this slide was taken, the Bartlett depot was 112 years old and still in use as a commuter station for the then Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul & Pacific Railroad, aka, The Milwaukee Road. The following month on December 31, 1985, the railroad merged with the Soo Line. Today, Metra owns the rails from Chicago to Big Timber. The former baggage room (bars on window, rust color door) was home at that time for the Northwest Suburban Mass Transit District office. |
