Trophy, 9 1/4" l x 3" w, wood, metal, silver and blue metal columns, engraved on metal plate- "Low Gross, 1st Annual Firehouse Open, 1966", swinging golfer on top, golf club is missing, Bottom- Price sticker reads -"List, Sportsman's Lodge Price 6.95 EA", in black marker - "SALIOC". Walter "Wally" Vlasak (1925-2013) was a longtime member of the Bartlett Volunteer Fire Department. He also enjoyed the game of golf. The onetime annual Bartlett Firemen's Open can trace its beginning back to 1966, the year of this trophy. Wally was awarded this trophy for "Low Gross" which means he had the lowest score without accounting for his handicap. |
