Announcement, 7 1/2" w x 5" h framed, circle hook on top and bottom, glass (cracked), Front- paper announcement states, "Notice of Change in Collections by Village Treasurer...Henry Hothan, Village Treasurer" Today, Bartlett Village Hall has set hours of operation for the variety of business that transpires within. But that was not always the case. It wasn't until July 1962, when an employee was hired to work at the hall from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to noon. From 1935 until his death in 1954, Henry Hothan, a carpenter/contractor, served as the village's treasurer. Payments owed to the village were made at the "office of the Village Treasurer," most likely his home, during the specific days and times noted on this undated sign. |
