Postcard, 4" w x 6" l, black & white image, Front- one-story log cabin with center door and windows on each side, surrounded by trees and pine tree. Back- label attached states, "Log Cabin Photo by Katie Licciardi" This postcard is part of a series taken by Bartlett High School students in the Advanced Photo Class during the 2005-2006 school year. The postcards were sold as a fundraiser by the school. This image was taken by Katie Licciardi. In the late 1940s, Bartlett residents turned to building a "Community House" on the grounds of Bartlett Park since Bartlett had no public gathering facility. The community rallied with contributions of time and money being donated by the Bartlett Volunteer Fire Department, Bartlett Lions Club, Bartlett Woman's Club and the Royal Neighbors for the actual construction and furnishing of what is known today as the Log Cabin, located at the park's southeast corner. Completed in 1952, the Community House quickly became the meeting place for the Bartlett Woman's Club, Boy and Girl Scout troops, Bartlett Women's Garden Club, Bartlett Men's Garden Club, Bartlett Beaver 4-H group, Golden Agers and more. |
