Description |
Postcard, 5 1/2" l x 3 1/2" w, paper, Front - "Greetings from Bartlett Illinois" is embossed on the front of the card which is pink in the top left corner and yellow in the bottom right corner, the word "Bartlett" is painted over with darker ink, Back - "Post card...postale" is printed in purple ink along the top, a green one cent stamp is in the top right corner, "From your cousin Elmer Engelking" is written in pencil on the left side, "Miss Grace Leiseberg, Bartlett, Ill" is written in pencil on the right side of the card. Grace Leiseberg Johnson (1901-1996) spent almost all her life living in Bartlett. In 1909, she and her family moved into the village in a home her father built on Morse Avenue. Elmer Engelking (1907-1997) was her cousin who sent this beautiful embossed postcard to her in 1909. |
