Novelty, promotional spoon/bottle opener, 7 3/4" l x 1 1/2" w at spoon, metal, long handle with spoon at one end and bottle opener at other. Imprinted in handle- "To stir up a friendship, Humbracht's Confectionary, Bartlett, Illinois" Humbracht's Confectionary was once located at 130 W. Bartlett Avenue and in operation from 1948 to the early 1980s. Proprietor Earl Humbracht is best remembered by the Baby Boomer generation for his kindness and patience while as children they would be selected their penny candy to purchase. Humbracht's also had a soda fountain serving up the best malts, shakes and phosphates. This spoon, given away free to patrons, could be used to open a bottle of root beer and stir the added ice cream to make a root beer float at home. |
