Booklet, 6 1/4" l x 4 3/4" w, paper, 32 pages, 'The New Joke Book', front cover has brightly colored illustration of two laughing ladies and one smiling man being entertained by another man pointing at them, back cover is an illustration of a man in a suit with top hat and cane and an ad for Dr Miles Nervine. Interior pages are sepia with monotone red and black type. Circa mid to late 1930s, this was a promotional booklet with jokes and advertisements for mail order drugstore items such as: Dr Miles Nervine, Alka- Seltzer, Dr Miles Anti-pain pills. |
