Scarf, 20" x 20", cotton, hot pink, screened in purple- "10th Anniversary Winter Games, 1983, 1993, Village of Bartlett" snowflakes, Special Olympics logo. The Bartlett chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, along with other area service organizations sponsored the first snow skiing event for the Northeastern Illinois Special Olympics in January 1983. Held at Bartlett Hills Golf Club, the event continues today with snow shoeing being added by 2007. The summer Special Olympics Golf Tournament, also held at Bartlett Hills, was added about the same time. In 1993, the 10th anniversary of the event on Bartlett, dedicated volunteers received a commemorative scarf. as a thank you for their service. |
