Calendar, 10" w x 9 1/2" l (folded), paper, metal spiral, Cover- illustration of two children on sled with dog, printed in white, "Norman Rockwell 1982 Home Appointment calendar," printed in black, "Bartlett Pharmacy, Free Prescription Delivery, 321 Railroad Ave., Bartlett, Illinois, Phone 837-1300," each month is a different Rockwell illustration with daily fishing guide, sun rise time, days of note, birthstone and flower, back pages list basic supplies for the medicine cabinet, poison information, family prescription record, Back- family immunization record. In 1982, the Bartlett Pharmacy gave away this Norman Rockwell illustrated calendar to its patrons. Once located at 321 Railroad Avenue, the pharmacy was operated for 25 years by Pharmacist Richard Kus (1934-1997). Opening in the early 1960s, the business also carried gift items, Hallmark cards, Sealtest ice cream, cosmetics, baby needs, rental and sales of medical equipment, and photo finishing. Two radio dispatched cars offered free pick up and delivery of prescriptions. Kus, a member of the Lions Club, was on the Plan Commission where he served as chairman and a village trustee in the 1970s. |
