Toastmasters International is a nonprofit educational organization, established in 1924, that teaches public speaking skills. Clubs meet online or in person and prepare and deliver speeches, respond to questions and receive feedback from other members. Lifelong Bartlett resident Harvey Brandt worked for the Milwaukee Road and was a charter member of the Milwaukee Road Shops Toastmaster Club No. 945 which was chartered on April 18, 1951. Though the Milwaukee Road no longer exists today the chapter still does and is called the Milwaukee Metro Speakers Club No. 945. |
