Pass, 4"w x 2 1/2" l, paper, cream color, Front- printed in black- "The Milwaukee Road...Pass...", typed in black- "H. W. Brandt...& Frt. Trains" , printed in red- "1953-54, 3911", signed in ink- "H. W. Brandt", Back- printed in black "Conditions...Not Transferable" Lifelong resident and longtime Milwaukee Road employee Harvey W. Brandt (1903-1970) was an assistant supervisor in the Air Brakes Department. This pass was issued to him for free rail travel which was one of the perks of the job. He signed the pass on the right side. His sister Dorothy Brandt (1906-1985) also worked for the Milwaukee Road in the Pass Bureau. Her signature is on the bottom left of the card. She would have the same perks of free rail travel too. |
