Mug, 6 1/2" h x 4 3/4 w (including handle). plastic, blue, printed front and back in white- "Friend of the Fest" and logo of Oktoberfest with includes organizational names- "Bartlett Area Chamber, Lions Club, Rotary Club, Ignite the Courage," handle. On September 29 and 30, 2023, Oktoberfest, held in Leiseberg Park, returned for its second year sponsored by the Bartlett Area Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club of Bartlett, Bartlett Lions Club and Ignite the Courage. This mug was given to sponsors who made a donation. The two day event featured food, bands, activities and of course, beer. The first Oktoberfest, sponsored by the Bartlett Chamber of Commerce, was in 1979. It was held at Bartlett Hills Golf Club and included beer, German food, games and a German band. The event remained there until 1993, when it moved to Bartlett Plaza. It appears Octoberfest then ceased until 1998 when it was brought back for two years. According to the August/September 1998 Bartletter, the event was held at Leiseberg Park complete with two German bands, food, drinks and a raffle to win a vacation package. A plastic commemorative mug was given to attendees. The chamber also sponsored the event in 1999. |
