Print, photographic, 3 1/2" x 3 1/2", color, Front- large group of people standing outside around train engine, home, trees in background. Back- written in pen "4-6-74" The Village of Bartlett engine, in the background, was dedicated at the Bartlett depot on April 6, 1974. It was the first of 13 new engines ordered by the then Northwest Suburban Mass Transit District and put in use on the then Milwaukee Road's west line. Today commuter service from Chicago to Elgin is operated by Metra with the line's name, the Milwaukee West Line, paying tribute to its forerunner. |
