Description |
Image, digital, black & white, Front- eight men, in two rows, wearing uniforms with "Elgin" and numbers on the jersey, kneeling, crouching in front of brick wall with two basketballs on wooden floor. On March 29, 1959, the Bartlett School gym was the venue for a charity event consisting of two basketball games. The first game was the Brownie Scout mothers verses the Cub Scout mothers. The second match-up was the Bartlett Lions Club verses the Bartlett Volunteer Fire Department. The Cub Scout moms won and so did the firemen in this final four. But really all the teams were winners because the proceeds from the event went to support the Brownie and Cub funds. Here is the Lions Club team in their borrowed uniforms.
