Print, photographic, folder when open and flat- 13 1/2" w x 8 3/4"h, print- 4"w x 6"h, sepia, Front- portrait of child with bang and shoulder length hair with curls, wearing top with collar with stitching detail, embossed lower right, "Carlson Elgin" Jane Humbracht Ping (1924-2016) was born on January 20, 1924, the third child and only daughter of August Humbracht and his wife Lillie Jay Humbracht. She was raised on the family's farm once located off Oak Avenue on the north side of town. Jane attended Bartlett School from grades 1-10 and completed the last two years of high school at Elgin. She married her husband Basil "Doc" Ping in 1942 and the couple had two daughters. Jane was a lifelong Bartlett resident. |
