Image, digital, color, three men, one in a fire department uniform, standing outside next to a piece of fire fighting equipment on a trailer. Buildings are in background. Fire Chief Elmer Hecht, first on left in uniform, stands in front of the newly restored Howe hand pumper, the Village's first piece of fire fighting equipment purchased in 1897. First on right is then Village President William "Bill" Tiknis, second man on right is William "Bill" Taylor, Both were volunteer firefighters. They are outside the Fire Barn at 218 S. Main Street. Picture possibly taken on May 16, 1976 when the fire department held an open house for the public to view the restored Howe hand pumper. |
