Two-year-old Ruth Harmening Giles (1916-2014) is all smiles in 1918 as the corn begin to grow on land once located on S. Hickory Avenue. The barn in the background, now razed, stood at 244 S. Hickory, just north of her grandparents Henry and Caroline Harmening's home and property. |
