Image, digital, black and white, Front- Man wearing US Navy blue uniform standing outside next to woman in dark skirt/white top with cocker spaniel at their feet. Eugene "Gene" Haase (1926-2007) and his wife Violet Jensen Haase (1926-2015) pose with their cocker spaniel Blondie upon Gene's return from service in the Korean War. He served from June 26, 1951- October 30, 1952. Gene and Violet grew up together in Bartlett and attended Bartlett School where they were in the same class. Gene also served in WW II and during that time the couple, who were married in 1948, corresponded with each other. Gene was recalled to serve in the Korean War from June 26, 1951 through October 30, 1952. |
