Small town guys and gals didn't have to stray far from their own backyard to find their lifelong mates. Chums in the front row, left to right, are Ruth "Mickey" Thurn, Marion Atchison, Elaine Jensen and Melbourne "Mel" Atchison. In the back row, left to right, are Bill Jervey, Howard Gronemeier, George Vlasak and Paul O'Brien (being held by the guys). They are at the Atchison home visiting Mel who is home on leave from serving in the Navy in WW II. It was only a matter of years before Ruth married Bill, Marion wed Howard and Elaine took Mel's last name. |
