Maggie Hendrickson, sitting, and her friend Debbie DeRoo standing, are all bundled up for their walk to Bartlett Grade School. On the bulletin board, in the background, is a calendar set to February. Unfortunately the year is not readable. Maggie shared, "Here is a photo of my best friend growing up in Bartlett, Debbie DeRoo, who lived at 234 Chase Street, right across from me. This was probably around 1969. Debbie and I were inseparable for years, and my mom used to say when we walked down the street to go to Bartlett Grade School, she watched us as we literally leaned on each other as we walked. We remained good friends all thru school. Her friendship was one of my best memories growing up in Bartlett." |
