Description |
Image, digital, black and white Front- Winter scene of cardboard figures around lamp post displayed in window. In background is reflection of building, American flag. Violet Jensen Haase (1926-2015) took this image of a small Christmas display in the window of Bartlett's O. H. Wright & Company and sent it to her husband Eugene "Gene" Haase (1926-2007) who was serving in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War. Also known as Wright's at Bartlett, the business' office, window pictured here, was located at 108 W. Bartlett Avenue. The building in the reflection is presumed to be the once a flour and feed mill of Carr & Lobdell. Wright used the that building, and the now commuter parking lot, to store lumber, green coal and other products the business sold. |
