Print, photographic, 8"w x 10"h, black & white, two story building, stone first floor, clapboard second floor, with bushes in front, water tower behind, utility poles to left. Sign above door reads- "Village Hall, Bartlett, Police Dept." Back- label which says: Photographer: Luther Joseph, Assignment: Bartlett, Illinois Buildings (Drury) Bartlett Village Hall on Main St." This was Bartlett's first Village Hall. Construction began in 1894 with the second story being added later. The Police Department and jail cells were located on the first floor. The council chamber was on the second floor. The building, located on Main Street, was razed in 1968. |
