Image, digital, black & white, Front- two woman standing outside hugging in front of Tilt-a Whirl. The once annual Bartlett Volunteer Fire Department's summer festival was the most eagerly awaited event of the year. Held over a weekend in August in Bartlett Park, it included games, rides, music, dancing and beer. The festival was held from 1938-1969 and it was the largest fundraiser for the department. It's the early 1940s and Elaine Jensen Atchison (1924-2014) left, and Elva Scollay (1923-2007), right, are enjoying a day at the festival. |
