The 1929 confirmation class of then Immanuel Evangelical and Reform Church (today Immanuel United Church of Christ) pose with their minister Reverend William Rathmann (seated, center). Confirmands, left to right, Anna Marxen, Lucille Kennicke, Raymond McClean, Roland O'Brien, Vernetta Thurnau Benicke and Ruth Harmening Giles. Note that Vernetta and Ruth are wearing matching dresses. Ruth's mom had passed away and Vernetta's mom Melinda Thurnau purchased a dress for Ruth also. |
