Print, photographic, 4" x 6", color, Front- two women sitting and cement steps outside, white building in background. Buddies, BFFs, pals, chums, besties, comrades, Jane Humbracht Ping (1924-2016), left, and Elaine Jensen Atchison (1924-2014), right, met as first graders at Bartlett School in 1930 and quickly formed a lifelong friendship. When it came time to marry, both girls wed the new boys in town. Living close to each other, the friends would take walks together later in life. This picture was snapped in 2001 when the gals were spotted taking a break on the carriage steps of Immanuel United Church of Christ where they were confirmed in the same class and were both members of. |
