Print, photographic, 4 1/4"w x 3 1/2" h, color, Front- seven people, males and females, standing outside, no coats on, brick home in background. It's Christmas Day, December 25, 1982, and the Ping and Smith families pose outside, with no coats, for a holiday photo! Wasn't it cold? Nope! That Christmas, the temperature was 64 degrees! It was the warmest Christmas, as of 2023, the Chicagoland area has experienced. Notice the kitchen window in the Ping home, located at 200 N. Hickory Avenue, was open to let the warm fresh air in. Pictured here are, front row, kneeling, left to right are Jane Humbracht Ping and her son-in-law Charlie Smith. Middle row, standing is grandson Scott Smith. Back row, left to right, Sandy Ping Smith (Jane and Doc's daughter), Basil "Doc" Ping (Jane's husband), granddaughter Cheryl Smith, and Jean Ping (Jane and Doc's daughter). |
