Schultz Hardware began operations in 1910, when Herman Schultz opened his first store at 120 W. Bartlett Avenue. In 1926, Schultz had a two-story building constructed at 110 W. Bartlett Avenue, pictured here on March 27, 1990. The one-story portion to the right, was once the site of Marcus Hurst’s men's store. Later the hardware goods expanded into that space. The partial building to the right was once the office for the lumber yard operation. The open roadway to the left has been fenced off and no longer accessible from Bartlett Avenue. Schultz Hardware closed in 1999. It was the last fully intact business on the interior and exterior. The building has since been extensively renovated on the exterior and interior. Today it houses several businesses. |
