Image, digital, color, Front- Three people (two in gold vests and caps, one in Bartlett Police Department uniform), one lion figure holding sign, standing outside at night in front of table with sign reading "hot dogs." Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Bartlett Police Department's 2020 National Night Out (NNO) took on different ways of celebrating. Always held on the first Tuesday in August, the 2020 main event took place on October 6 with the police encouraging residents to "Light Up the Night." Clare Oaks, BAPS, the Bartlett Lion's Club and 40 neighborhoods participated with a caravan of police cars riding down all the neighbors with their lights and sirens on. The Bartlett Lions Club always volunteer at NNO by serving hundreds of hot dogs, bags of chips and bottles of water to attendees. This years that tasty offering did not occur. In the spirit of that tradition, the 2020 Bartlett Lions Club Secretary, Lion Joanne Watson (left) and President Lion Andy Watson (second from left) decided to set up a replica of the hot dog stand in their front yard for NNO's "Light up the Night." They set up a table with chips, water and gummy hot dogs. Also added were flashing lights, and color changing yard lights. Deputy Chief of Support Services Geoffrey Pretkelis (on right) posed for a picture. The club's lion mascot (second from right) was also in attendance! |
