For Jane Humbracht Ping (1924-2016) and her husband Basil "Doc" Ping (1922-2003) the family farm, once located on the north side of the village, provided the perfect venue for their snowmachining! Good thing, because in 1985, the Village Board approved an ordinance which prohibited horses and motor vehicles on the bike paths maintained by the village and the Bartlett Park District for the safety of bicyclists and pedestrians. Motor vehicles included cars, trucks, mopeds, motorcycles and snowmobiles. |
