Description |
Image, digital, black & white, Front- woman bending over two dogs, buildings in background. Elaine Jensen Atchison is teaching her dog Schnuckers, behind her, left, and her sister's dog, Blondie, jumping up on right, some new tricks. Violet Jensen Haase and Elaine both got cocker spaniel puppies at the same time. Elaine's was black and Violet's was golden. The sisters and their families, at one point, both lived at 214 S. Oak Avenue, a two-story home, now razed, that was converted into two apartments. The dogs are performing their tricks in the front yard. Looking east are two buildings. The first, on the left, was once located at 121 W. Railroad Avenue and was home to many businesses before it was razed. The longer building is located at 113 W. Railroad Avenue and home to the Bartlett Tavern or Bartlett Tap. The sister's parents Ed and Serena Jensen were longtime owners of the Bartlett Tavern. |
