Image, digital, black & white, Front- seven males, wearing suits, sitting at table inside room. Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church was founded in Ontarioville, today Hanover Park, in 1871. By 1959, the congregation has out grown its original building and began holding services in Bartlett's Set Screw & Manufacturing Co. once located on Main Street. The congregation worshipped there for 4 ½ years. The "factory church" was made suitable for worship by the efforts of many volunteers. Pictured here is the Sunday School class taught by Earl Beckner, first on left. Beckner was also a member of the church's building committee. On July 5, 1964 a dedication service was held for the church's new facility located at 1116 E Devon Avenue in Bartlett and worship at the factory ceased. |
