Print, photographic, 5"h x 7"w, black & white, Front- four males and two females inside a room sitting/standing, looking at and/or holding books, bookshelves in background, written in ink- "1955 Herrick House Lion's Gift of Encyclopedias", Back-nothing Members of the Bartlett Lions Club donated a set of encyclopedias in 1955 to Herrick House, once located on West Bartlett Road. Herrick House was a facility initially devoted to the convalescent care of children who have had rheumatic fever. Lion Oliver "Ollie" Hardt is standing behind the couch. Lion Tom Giles, sitting, is handing an encyclopedia to William "Bill" Lincoln Jackson, a teacher at Herrick House. To Giles' left, is Lion Robert Reif. All others are unknown. |
