Print, photographic, 8" x 10", black & white, Front- outside street scene of ominous clouds in sky over buildings, trees, automobiles, railroad tracks. Back- written in orange crayon- "Storm Clouds Gather", p.1" red stamped form in which information written in orange crayon-"79, 32175, 808, 100,4,40" This image of a spring 1975 rain storm over downtown Bartlett, taken by the photography staff of the Schaumburg Village Voice newspaper which closed in the late 1980s, brought some dramatic clouds. Commuters are huddled under the eaves of the former depot avoiding getting wet. The Bartlett State Bank, on the left, had already moved to its new Main Street facility, two years prior. On the former bank's west addition, note the large sign on the roof for Williamsburg Realty. The business moved its office there from its prior location down the block at 124 W. Bartlett Avenue. |
