Print, photographic, 3 1/2" x 3 1/2", color, Front- man sitting in chair inside holding golf trophy, Back- William "Bill" "Tik" Tiknis (1929-2017) proudly shows off a golf trophy, most likely won by him. Bill, one time village president, started the movement to save Bartlett Hills Golf Club from developers, during his administration. Bill was also a longtime member of the Men's Golf League at the club. According to him, "Each year the league holds a tournament to determine the league champion." In 1970 Bill won the championship and the trophy. Though this image has a date of "Sep 1971" on the right edge, we know that was when the image was developed, not necessarily taken. Perhaps this is Bill celebrating his 1970 win or he is inspecting the trophy prior to being awarded to the 1971 winner Dale Harper. |
