Donna Prehm Barber, foreground, and Marlene Rosenwinkel Palmer, hands on wheel, sit in a car at the Bartlett Volunteer Fire Department's annual Firemen's Festival. Held on an August weekend from 1938 to1969 in Bartlett Park, the festival included amusement rides, games of chance, food and beer. The festival was the largest fundraiser for the department who used the profits to purchase equipment, uniforms, training and more. |
