Image, digital, 4" x 6", color, Group of three males in Army uniforms standing next to U.S. Army vehicles parked on the sidewalk in front of a building. Photographer wrote on back, "Veteran's Day 2001 Bartlett City Hall Cantigny Museum restored Jeep and M3 Half Track." On November 11, 2001, the Bartlett History Museum hosted an event remembering the 60th anniversary of the US involvement in WW II. Everyone was welcome to attend the event at Village Hall which coincide with the museum's exhibit, "Bartlett's Greatest Generation." The event included speakers, recognition of servicemen who left from Bartlett with the Mayor's Medallion and all WW II servicemen with a certificate. Refreshments included ration recipes such as sugarless cake, etc. Residents could bring their collection of WW II items and display them that day. The First Division Museum at Cantigny brought vehicles and reenactors to display at the Hall's entrance. |
