Gerald Arens (1916-1997), first in row next to blackboard, was raised in a home once located on Route 59 just north of Army Trail Road on the west side of the street. He most likely attended Oak Glen School for his elementary education, but this has not been confirmed. Oak Glen, a one-room school house, was once located on the southeast corner of Stearns and South Bartlett Roads, where a gas station is today. This could possibly be a picture of the interior of that school house. |
